Full Story
So here's the beef. We left late Sunday night to drive to Seward, AK. Pulled up to the beach in Seward at about midnight, we fell asleep to the sound of the breaking waves and the view of Resurrection Bay. Slept very well(due to having a camper shell) and woke up to crazy seagulls yelling at us.
We then drove to the glacier and hiked around. It had started sprinkling a tad so everything was super slippy. We scaled a 50' rock that was pretty scary and dangerous if it were dry, but since it was wet we were lucky to make it. We touched the glacier, then climbed around near a cool canyon, then decided it was time to visit a lost lake, somewhere in the Chugach mountains.
We started the hike, which is 7.5 miles one way to the lake. Eric was too excited that there were beautiful blueberries, salmon berries, and watermelon berries that it took them a little longer(2.5hrs) to reach the top. There are pictures of the lake in the previous post and if we go again this year, I will take a camera.
It was magnificent, 1000 foot deep gorge, cute little mountain streams, lotza birdies, huge trees, dense forests, arctic tundra(I think they called it alpine), and that beautiful, crystal clear lake.
On the way back down the mountain, Eric was being tired and sore, but Marcella was doing fine. She was ahead of him and one of the runners(yeah, people run up and down this thing) caught up to us. Eric let him pass, and Marcella, thinking it was me, started running(its a little thing we do, I chase her and she runs faster). Well, he kept getting closer, and she just ran faster and faster, until she was squealing because of how funny it was, then she yells "Lovey", to which he replied, "I don't think I am who you think I am", I finally caught up and she told me, we laughed heartily, and I am sure he did too.
And the moral is: Camper shells are awesome, mine just needs the back glass replaced.

Lost Lake Trail
Seriously, wonderfully, the most beautiful hike I've ever been on.
Decided, since my only camera is my phone as well, that we wouldn't bring it. Wish that I would have. Anyway, Here is a picture someone else took whilst at the lake. The trail was about 15 mile round trip and took us about 6 hrs to do it. Marcella was not even winded, and Eric was beat. It probably would have taken less time if there werent so many darned berries along that darn trail.

I did not take these pictures, wish I did, just need a good camera, eventually I'll get one.

Fishing: Video Edition
If you watch closely you'll see the fish jumping, trying to get away.

Update: I forgot how much I hate the sound of my voice.

Ohh Yeah, By the Way, We Live in Alaska!
So I'm quite the looser of the blogging, but here are a couple of thoughts:
The Laughably Honest (A NEW ALBUM IS IN THE WORKS)
The band members consist of, Marcella & Eric, we sometimes allow others to help.
Classics from the Netherlands (An EP Demo is Coming Out soon)
Band members consist of eric all alone(will recruit a drummer and possibly a bassist)
About to graduate in the fall, for heavens sake, but who cares, all I learned is Obama(He is the first and only black(half)president for those who don't know, sorry Bill) and liberalism.
Marcella is doing nutrition consulting, missionarying, and a full time student.
Eric is working 2 jobs(Thanks Obama, He blesses me every day) and schooling fullish time(summer so I did 3 classes). And trying his best to learn how to fish.
Marcella and Eric are married, living happily, busy as hell but happy. We play our music "The Laughably Honest" when and where possible and hope to get some pitiful "meh's" from critics.
If you like cool things like us:
Listen to "Vetiver" a perfect folk rock band (Find "the Swimming song")
Play the card game "Set" a mind building wonderment
Watch Craigslist Daily (I have earned more money from that website than any other)
Move to Alaska
Eat fresh produce daily
play with geese and ducks
be a mormon
dont buy your college books, share with a classmate to save millions of dollars
wear a business suit made in the 70s to work and school everyday
Dont own a television or cable subscription
have a $24 a month electric bill
Have a wonderful summer, We'll be working through ours so that we can someday afford a home or children.
